Cheeky Librarian

This is my place to relate my experiences with cancer treatment, as well as share resources that may be helpful to fellow oral, head, and neck cancer survivors. I was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma of the left parotid on June 30, 2006. My goal is to continue enjoying the Nebraska Good Life. I call this blog the "Cheeky Librarian", since the cancer was discovered in my cheek, I am a librarian, and many that know me say I fit the slang use of the word 'cheeky'.

Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma fighter in the news

Pamela Maxwell, as reported in the Lincolnshire Echo (UK), is adding to the fight against ACC by participating as a guinea pig for immunotherapy research.

Quote: "Whatever help I can be to future research I'm really pleased to give.
I feel that I have been part of something quite amazing and I think it has probably helped me most by keeping me emotionally well.
"

You, Ms. Maxwell, and all others that are participating in clinical trials, are my hero. Thank you for giving the rest of us a model to follow.
