Though I hate the side effects of getting old - crepy skin speckled w/spots, creeky joints that need stretching and babying - I'll be happy to turn 50! I think of Maggie Jacobs who, after developing cancer, said that she'd changed her mind and wanted to get to her 50th birthday. Sadly she didn't. (Died 5 or 6 weeks shy of it.)
Made me realize that while aging can suck, it beats the alternative!
